The Second Gaming Project Cluster Meeting, organised by the GCC in collaboration with the European Research Executive Agency (REA) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), took place on 10 June 2026 at the REA premises in Brussels. The meeting brought together EU-funded gaming projects, researchers, and European Commission representatives to exchange knowledge, share research outcomes, and discuss priorities for the European gaming sector.
The meeting featured presentations from active and completed projects, highlighting their achievements, policy relevance, and opportunities for collaboration. Key discussions focused on mapping the European video game industry, artificial intelligence in gaming, safer gaming environments, and innovation and competitiveness within the sector.
Building on previous clustering activities, the meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen synergies among projects, identify emerging research gaps, and explore how EU-funded research can contribute to future European policies and initiatives, including the EU Gaming Strategy.
