MEGASKILLS – MEthodology of Psycho-pedagogical, Big Data and Commercial Video GAmes procedures for the European SKILLS Agenda Implementation

MEGASKILLS is an EU-funded Horizon Europe project that redefines how soft skills are understood, trained, and assessed across Europe. By combining psychology, data science, and game-based learning, MEGASKILLS has transformed commercial video games into powerful tools for identifying and developing the key competencies needed in the 21st-century workforce.

Over the course of three years, the consortium brought together research institutions, training providers, digital experts, and business networks to bridge the gap between education and the labour market. The result is an innovative and scientifically validated methodology that connects gaming behaviour to measurable soft skills – such as problem solving, adaptability, collaboration, and emotional intelligence – through real-time data analysis and artificial intelligence.

More than 500 participants across six European countries took part in testing the methodology, including students, jobseekers, and professionals from SMEs and key industrial sectors. Their engagement helped validate a new way of evaluating human potential, one that is inclusive, data-driven, and engaging.

The project outcomes include a validated soft skills model, an AI-powered assessment platform, and a digital accreditation system aligned with Europass standards. Through its Ambassador Programme and partnerships with education and industry stakeholders, MEGASKILLS aims to ensure that its results continue to support Europe’s digital and green transitions – empowering learners, educators, and employers alike to unlock the skills of the future.
